The episode begins as Kotori is preparing for her wedding the following day. She thanks her older sister for taking care of her. Then the story returns to an earlier time, while Kotori was still in school. She spends much of her time with Jun’ichi Asakura, walking to and from school, making him lunch, that sort of thing. It’s no wonder that people seem to think that they’re an item, though they’d be the first to deny it.

One evening, after Jun visits his sister’s grave site, he invites his group of female friends over to clean out her room, an activity that doesn’t sit well with Kotori. She decides to leave early, and Jun races after her. As the rain begins to fall, he tries to confess his feelings for her, but Kotori only apologizes and runs to the great tree at the center of their island home. Jun’s confession was what she had always hoped for, and she can’t understand what made her reject it.
